Who Makes How Much At IHA - Part 2

WHO MAKES HOW MUCH

* Donna Lommer was program administrator in the Okanagan for residential and palliative care from 2005 to 2009. During that time, she was paid $138,461. In 2009, she was promoted to corporate director of strategic alignment. The job came with an 18 per cent increase to $163,644. And in 2010, she was made vice-president residential services and chief financial officer. In 2010/11, she earned 31 per cent more, at $214,469.

* Cathy Renkas was made chief of communications for Interior Health in late 2008 and held that position in 2009. In those years, she was paid $95,012 and $120,324 respectively — a 27 per cent increase year to year. In 2010, she was promoted to vice-president communications/public affairs, doing corporate communications, health promotion and community engagement. That job increased her salary by 12 per cent to $134,832.

* Martin McMahon was chief planning and improvement officer for IHA in 2008 and 2009. In those years, he was paid $131,173 and $133,568 respectively — an increase of 1.8 per cent. In 2010, he was promoted to vice-president of planning/strategic services, getting a 22 per cent pay hike in the process that put his earnings up to $163,105.

Here’s a comparison chart:

Halpenny 2008 $283,237, 2011 $346,014
Neuner 2008 $202,153, 2011 $232,066
Konnert 2008 $236,457
Brown 2011 $253,105
Sinclair 2008 $167,944, 2011 $227,766
Lommer 2008 $138,461, 2011 $214,469
Renkas 2008 $ 95,012, 2011 $134,832
McMahon 2008 $131,173, 2011 $163,105

Net Difference per year $316,920 x 5 years = $1,584,600 (not including bonuses and retirement packages or golden parachutes.) While it is recognized that over the same period workloads have been altered and that other administration positions have been dissolved (saving $) it is unclear how contracts have changed.
