WHO MAKES HOW MUCH
When he took over from retiring chief executive officer Murray Ramsden in early 2010, Dr. Robert Halpenny restructured Interior Health upper management. He got rid of the Okanagan, Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap and Kootenay geographic designations and set up a management team based on areas of service for all of Interior Health.
Interior Health has reorganized its leadership structure. The new structure was created by IH CEO, Dr. Rob Halpenny, to reflect his vision of 'one IH.'
Many of the same managers moved into different positions. And new titles meant new pay scales. Top staff at IHA (all figures exclude pension amounts):
* Dr. Robert Halpenny was senior medical director with IHA before moving into the chief executive director top spot in 2010. As senior medical director, he was paid $283,237 in 2008/09 and $292,857 in 2009/10 (an increase of 3.4 per cent). In 2010/11, his new position boosted his pay to $346,014, up 18 per cent from his old pay rate.
* Andrew Neuner was chief operating officer of Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap until 2010, when he was made vice-president community integration. His old position gave him a 2008/09 salary of $202,153. It went up by 3.5 per cent in 2009/10 to $209,276. Neuner's new title earned him $232,066 in 2010/11 — 11 per cent more than his old job the year before.
