The explanation I received was fairly basic. When the ER at Princeton General Hospital is closed four nights a week (12:00 AM Midnight to 8:00 AM) Monday through Thursday, there's still a nurse in the building. The comforting part for me was to learn that although the doors to the hospital ER are locked tight, I can still buzz the nurse with a buzzer at the door.
That made me feel warm and fuzzy knowing that if I'm in some sort of dire emergency I could still buzz someone, much like trying to gain entry to an apartment building lobby of some kind. Thank you IHA for being so thoughtful. My worries are over.
It's also comforting to know that although IHA says the Princeton hospital is closed overnight (Mondays to Thursdays) it really isn't. The only thing closed is the door to the ER. Apparently if I can lift my hand up and have enough strength to push the buzzer to alert someone that I'm bleeding outside the hospital the nurse can get assistance by communicating with a computer link to someone in Kamloops.
I'm glad that was cleared up for me. Here I was thinking that when IHA said Princeton's ER was closed it meant I was possibly not going to get the immediate attention I may require for my emergency. Whew!
I think I'll just plan my emergency visit around the hours when Princeton's ER is 'open' - that is to say, when the door isn't locked. Thanks IHA for all your support on this one. Nicely done.
